WHat is Bike month?
National Bike Month is celebrated during the month of May as an opportunity to showcase the advantages that come from bicycling-- both physically and mentally. Celebrating Bike Month is a unique opportunity for communities come together in educating and encouraging their residents to ride. The League of American Bicyclists officially declared "May is Bike Month" in 1956.

- Track you bicycle and e-bicycle trips staring Wednesday, May 1 through Friday, May 31.
- Register through the Nashville Connector Commuter Tracker and start tracking your trips!

Events for Bike Month 2025 in Nashville
Bike Commuting 101- Lunch and Learn

- Join the Nashville Connector and KJ Garner of Bike Fun on Friday May 2 at East Library from 11 am to 1 pm for classroom style, hands-on training to discuss how to commute by bike.
- This Lunch and Learn will provide an overview on bike commuting with tips and tricks on how to safely get to and from your destination.
- Free lunch is provided-- registration required.
Bike to School Day
- Join the Nashville Connector team as we show out to support Bike to School Day in Antioch!
Bike to Work Week Kick-Off Ride

- Join the Vanderbilt community, Vanderbilt's Office of Transportation and Mobility, the Nashville Connector, and Spin for a group bike ride on May 12, 12-1pm.
- This ride will take place on low-speed roadways in the Music Row area, and will showcase the protected bike lanes installed on 12th Ave S.
- The ride is open to riders of many skill levels-- but baseline bike riding proficiency is required.

Bike to Work Day
Join the Nashville Department of Transportation on Friday, May 16 from 7:30 - 9:00 am to celebrate National Bike to Work Day! Bike to one of the bike stops during your morning bike commute for a free cup of coffee and bikeway projects nearby! (2025 Locations TBD)

TOUR DE NASH

Join Walk Bike Nashville, the Nashville Connector, Nashville Department of Transportation, and a myriad of other sponsors and community partners on Saturday, May 17 for the 21st Annual Tour De Nash, presented by LDA Engineering.
Take a 5 mile City Tour, 25 mile Local Tour or 45 mile Grand Tour!
Tour de Nash is a ride, not a race, providing a casual and fun opportunity to explore the city’s bikeways, neighborhoods, and greenways with a whole community of friendly bicycle riders. The non-competitive spirit of this event is conducive to a “party-pace”--a leisurely pace that promotes conversation with fellow riders and encourages stops at destinations and rest stops along the way.
Music City Dope Pedalers Group Bike Ride

- Come join us Friday, May 23rd for a fun-filled beginner-friendly bike ride at Frankie Pierce Park with the Music City Dope Pedalers!
- This in-person event is perfect for both beginners and experienced riders looking to explore on two wheels.
- Music City Dope Pedalers is a vibrant cycling group in Nashville, started by Nate McDowell of Brassville. MCDP aims to create an approachable and fun biking community in Nashville, catering to both seasoned and new riders.
