What is a Week Without Driving?
Monday, September 29 - Sunday, October 5
Imagine navigating your community without being able to drive. How would you get to work, the grocery store, or a doctor’s appointment?
For millions of people across our country, this is an everyday challenge. Missing sidewalks, unreliable transit, and car-centered infrastructure create barriers that limit independence, access to opportunities, and quality of life. This year, Nashville Department of Transportation & Multimodal Infrastructure, Vision Zero, and Nashville Connector are teaming up to bring awareness to a national campaign - Week Without Driving from September 29 - October 5.
As an organization dedicated to sustainable modes of transportation, we see Week Without Driving as a critical step toward recognizing and dismantling the barriers to mobility many face daily. Take the pledge to go a Week Without Driving and tell us how you're experience was!
For those who can use bikes and scooters, B-Cycle is providing FREE Days passes any day of the week using the promo code CARFREE25. Bird, Lime, and Spin are providing 2 FREE 10 minute scooter and e-bike rides using the promo code 1WEEK.

Community Bike Ride with Trustee Gilmore
Sunday, October 5 | 2:00 - 2:30 PM
Meet at Howard Office Building at 2 pm - 700 President Ronald Reagan Way, Nashville, TN 37210
Purpose: As a board member of America Walks, Trustee Gilmore is passionate about highlighting how nearly one-third of Americans—including people with disabilities, seniors, young people, and those who cannot afford cars—experience daily life without driving. This ride offers participants a chance to see firsthand the barriers non-drivers face and to work toward more accessible communities for all.
